Foie Gras Friday!!  Does it get any better than Foie Gras Friday??

Today we headed to Alex Sneazwell's new place Sandwich and Sons for their Foie Gras special available only on Fridays.  As we found out, and it appeared from previous bloggers, the Fois Gras special changes every Friday.  Alex is working on getting his website up and running and tries to post on Twitter the Friday special but he is very busy with his new business so doesn't always have time.  Today he didn't even have time to update the chalk board so Philly got a picture of last week's special mostly rubbed off the board!

 

 

 

Now before we get too far into this I have to add a little disclaimer.  I know Philly's photos are usually the hit of this blog (he has over 256,000 views of his photos, whereas I have less than only 48,000 views of my blog).  However, I have to say, today was not Phil's best work.  Here's an example of his pictures on the sandwiches:

  Come on!  These are great sandwiches and these pics just don't do them justice.  I think that poor Phil was a little off his game because our fantabulous friend Deb was with us who in and of herself is a beautiful distraction of lovliness!  However, I just think that Phil did not want to adjust her sandwich so he could get a picture of the decadent ingredients of our Foie Gras Sandwich!!

Now he did improve with the picture of the homemade potato chip bowl!

But on to our lunch.  The Foie Gras Sandwich started with a layer of Trout and Foie Pate topped with seared Foie Gras.  It was enhanced (if you can possibly enhance Foie Gras) with an artichoke and cream cheese spread.  It was then topped with lettuce, tomato, fresh dill and bacon.  It was amazing!  We added a bowl of their homemade fresh soup of the day which was Cream of Mushroom and it was delicious!  Phil enjoyed the BLT sandwich which he said was great.  It was a little pricey but hey - it's Foie Gras.  I would like to return to try their decadent Grilled Cheese Sandwich which is only $7 and, of course, try out more of their Foie Gras Friday specials.  I also plan to visit them at Taste of Edmonton where they will be offering their Foie Gras Peanut Butter and Jelly Sandwiches - yum!
