The Summer Starts in Edmonton!!

So despite the fact that we are desperately ready to move from Edmonton, there are some definite upsides to summers here.  Not the least of which are our neighbourhood driveway parties and our neighbourhood "patio crawls" where we have an appie and drink at each house and move between about 10 houses each night.  But, more of that later this summer.  For now, I want to provide some information on some great upcoming events in Edmonton:

Friday June 5th - The Mercer Super Summer Party is on from 5 - 10 pm and is free to get in but you have to have a ticket from Eventbrite.  There is music, arts, food, entertainment.  Then the Night Market Edmonton is also on from 7:00 pm until 11:00 pm just down the street with a free movie at 8:00 pm.  There should be some food trucks out and lots of entertainment so we'll be checking this out!  http://www.jlsnightmarket.com/; http://www.eventbrite.ca/e/mercer-summer-super-party-2015-tickets.

Monday June 8th - Indulgence 2015 - unfortunately I missed getting tickets for this event that sold out in less than a couple of days!  If anyone has tickets that they want to sell please contact me!!  http://indulgenceedmonton.ca/.

Wednesday June 10th - The Southwest Edmonton Farmer's Market runs every Wednesday night from 4:00 pm - 7:30 pm and has at least four food trucks there.  Went last night and it was awesome!  Bully Food Truck did run out of two of their items though so get there early!  http://swefm.ca/.

Thursday June 11th - The Forties and Fabulous gals have their regular monthly meetup.  http://www.meetup.com/Forties-and-Fabulous-Southside/.

Saturday June 13th - The St. Albert Farmer's Market opens for the season!  And we have a retirement party to attend in St. Albert this night so I see maybe some brunch at the new Acres 12 restaurant, a walk around the market and then maybe we'll hit the Privada Wine and Tapas Wine Bar for some Foie Gras before hitting the party!  http://www.privadawinebar.com/; http://www.12acres.ca/; http://stalbertfarmersmarket.com/.

Sunday June 14th - What the Truck?! has their second event of the season - Brunch on the Boulevard from 11 am - 3 pm.  http://www.whatthetruck.ca/what-the-truck/

Friday June 19th to Sunday June 21st - Porkapalooza is being held at Borden Park and entry is free.  There will be a number of food trucks and other food vendors there.  We will likely go on Saturday, but there is an event on Friday night that you might be interested in checking out http://porkapalooza.ca/.

Tuesday June 30th - BaconFest at the Jubilee Auditorium Lobby and Grounds  http://www.baconfestyeg.ca/

Then off to Kaslo, BC with our Mazatlan friends that REALLY know how to party it up right! 

Should be a great summer.  Maybe I'll diet in August . . . probably not!!
